This week is "Love Your Body Week" friends!! We hope the resources we have shared this month will help you in your dance classes to focus on the beautiful gift of having a body!
Today we are sharing a few ideas about how to create a body gratitude tree in your dance class this week.
The first resource we have is a brown tree that you can print out, along with a page of colorful leaves. You will have your students cut out all of the leaves, and then write something about their body that they are thankful for on each leaf. Then they can glue or tape their leaves to their tree, and create their own body positive tree.
The second Idea we have for you is to create a "Falling in love with our bodies" wall. Use the page with the leaf outlines. Copy this sheet onto colored paper in fall colors, then have students cut out the leaves, and write some things they are grateful for about their bodies on each leaf. You could make a large paper tree on one of the walls of your classroom or studio, or you could just have a wall of your room filled with all of these body positive thoughts.
And the last worksheet we provided has the black and white tree with space in the branches to write 6 things you love about your body. This option takes out the work of cutting and sticking, but still allows for reflection and body appreciation.
We hope you have a wonderful "Love Your Body Week." As a dance teacher your body has been through a lot. It is so easy to feel tired, worn out, and burnt out, and notice the ways that our bodies don't work as well, or in the same way that they used to. But please show your own body some love this week. It has served you so well, and is always communicating with you, and helping you through each day. Your body is a gift, a miracle, and your unique vessel in this world. Peace and love being sent your way dance friends!
Keep Dancing!
